On December 1st 2009, the UK Ministry of Defense closed its "UFO Desk" citing that in 50 years of research no evidence of potential threat to the UK was evident. This closure sent shockwaves through the UK UFO community with some of the MOD's own recently released reports being used as examples to suggest that a threat does indeed exist.
